Samsung's Galaxy SmartTag3 is available to buy in the United States starting November 6, 2026. The new tracker costs $29.99 for a one-pack and $99.99 for a four-pack, in White or Black, according to Samsung's US newsroom.
That puts it at the same US sticker price Samsung charged for SmartTag 2, and in line with Apple's current AirTag and Google's Pixel Tag. Korea got SmartTag3 first on October 7, 2026; Samsung says more markets follow in 2027.
Galaxy Buds On open-ear earbuds also went on sale in the US the same day for $229.99. We covered Buds On separately when they were announced; this piece focuses on the tracker.
Galaxy SmartTag3 US price and colors
Confirmed US pricing from Samsung on November 6, 2026:
One-pack: $29.99. Four-pack: $99.99. Colors: White and Black.
Samsung points shoppers to Samsung.com. Official accessories such as a Silicone Case with keyring and a Loop Case are sold separately; color and availability can vary by retailer. The bare tag no longer has a built-in key-ring cutout like older SmartTags, so a case is the usual way to clip it to keys or a bag.
What changed vs Galaxy SmartTag 2
Samsung's global launch materials say SmartTag3 is about 35% smaller by volume and 33% lighter than the previous generation, with a more rounded form and an aluminum-decorated button.
Battery life is a major claim: up to 550 days in standard use, or up to 790 days in Power Saving Mode, on the replaceable CR2032 coin cell (Samsung lab estimates; real life varies). Power Saving Mode limits some features, including Compass View.
Compass View now uses Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding for distance and direction from up to about 60 meters in line-of-sight tests — Samsung says roughly three times farther than the previous generation — then ultra-wideband (UWB) for finer guidance as you get closer. IP67 water and dust resistance carries over.

Finding features: Compass View, alerts and Find Network
Close-range finding is Compass View on supported Galaxy phones. Samsung says Compass View needs a Galaxy device on Android 12 or later with UWB or Bluetooth Channel Sounding. At launch, Channel Sounding (the longer ~60 m path) is listed for Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy S26 Ultra and Galaxy S26 Plus, with more devices possible later.
Out of direct range, the Galaxy Find Network can help. Samsung cites more than 900 million participating Galaxy devices that can act as finding nodes and says location updates after disconnect are faster than before. Timing still depends on nearby devices and network conditions.
New or highlighted software extras include Place Notification (trial feature: alert when a tag enters or leaves an area you set), Movement Detection Alert (when the tag is disconnected and nearby Offline-finding Galaxy phones detect motion), and Location History stored for up to seven days before older points are deleted.
Carry-over tools include NFC Lost Mode (show a contact message when someone scans the tag), SmartThings IoT Control via the tag button, and Left Behind Alert when your phone loses connection with the tag. Samsung says location data is encrypted.
Does Galaxy SmartTag3 work with iPhone?
Yes, with limits. SmartTag3 is the first Galaxy SmartTag generation Samsung markets with cross-OS support for Galaxy and iOS. Through SmartThings Find, people can check and share a tag's location and use Search Nearby on supported devices — useful when a friend or family member on iPhone borrows a tagged bag.
Samsung's footnotes say Compass View, Ring Phone and Left Behind Alert are not available on iOS. Feature availability can still vary by platform and market, so treat the full Galaxy experience as Galaxy-first.
SmartTag3 vs AirTag vs Pixel Tag
On US price alone, the three sit in the same band: about $29–$29.99 each or $99–$99.99 for a four-pack. The real split is the finding network and phone you already own.
AirTag is built for Apple's Find My network and Precision Finding on iPhone (and newer Apple Watch models for Precision Finding). Pixel Tag is built for Google's Find Hub on Android 9 and later, with UWB plus Bluetooth Channel Sounding precision finding and a Google-claimed battery life of about a year. SmartTag3 is built for Samsung's Galaxy Find Network and SmartThings Find, with Samsung's longer battery claim (up to 550 / 790 days) and optional iOS sharing for core location features.
If your household is mixed Galaxy and iPhone, SmartTag3's cross-OS sharing is the new Samsung pitch. If everyone is on iPhone, AirTag remains the native fit. If you live in Google's Find Hub world, Pixel Tag is the matching hardware. We are not inventing range or battery wins across brands beyond each company's published claims.
Where to buy Galaxy SmartTag3
As of Samsung's November 6, 2026 US post, SmartTag3 is available now via Samsung.com (and the company also points to retail availability alongside the same-day Buds On launch). Check White vs Black and one-pack vs four-pack before checkout, and budget separately for a Silicone Case or Loop Case if you need a keyring.
Pet-collar use is mentioned in Samsung materials, but the company warns that a detached tag can be a swallowing hazard for children and pets — keep it securely fastened and inspect it regularly.
